WAVERLY — A 72-year-old Burlington man was taken to the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington following a one-vehicle accident southwest of Waverly and near the Anderson County line Saturday morning. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Floyd Hess, Sr., was driving a pickup west on 16th Road and left the road and dropped into the ditch. Troopers said his truck hit a drainpipe, went airborne and landed in the ditch and rolled.
