LAWRENCE–Yesterday morning a Douglas County jury convicted a Lawrence man of molesting a 7-year-old girl in September. Jose A. Fernandez Torres has been convicted of aggrivated indecent liberties with a child and violation of a protective order. The jurors heard the evidence on Tuesday and Wednesday. They deliberated Wednesday and made their decision yesterday morning. Torres will be sentenced on February 7th. He faces 25 years to life in prison on the indecent liberties count and a year in jail for violating the protective order.
