HILLSDALE — At least two injuries occurred in Miami County as a result of Wednesday’s freezing drizzle that made most roads and highways slippery. A 69-year-old Paola man was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center Wednesday afternoon after his SUV slid off U.S. 169 near Hillsdale. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Luis Guzman was going too fast and went off the road and overturned in the east ditch at 255th Street just east of Hillsdale. A Kansas Department of Transportation truck treating U.S. 169 at the Johnson County line when it overturned. The driver received minor injuries but refused treatment.
