SALINA — It’s the end of an era. The Kansas Adjutant General’s office said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency/State of Kansas disaster processing joint field office in Salina has closed. The center has just the last of all of its $8.7 million in reimbursement checks for repair projects for damage from tornadoes and severe storms this summer. It’s the first time there hasn’t been a joint field office open in Kansas since the Greensburg tornado in 2007. Any follow-up work will be done at state headquarters in Topeka or the FEMA regional office in Kansas City.
