PAOLA–The Miami County Commissioners approved new regulations for residents to store semi-truck trailers and storage containers on their property. According to the “Osawatomie Graphic” the current regulations prohibit semi-truck trailers and storage containers be stored on residential property for more than 10 days in a year, unless the containers are in a building and out of sight. During the December 7th monthly meeting, Miami County Planning Comission Director Erik Pollom said changes in the regulations needed to be done for more flexibility. The changes will put semi-truck trailers and storage containers into two categories. Both will have to follow the conditions of being screened from public view and permitted as an accessory use to an approved conditional-use permit.
