LENEXA — An 18-year-old Gardner man was one of three people injured Sunday in a three-vehicle crash on I-35 in Lenexa. The Kansas Highway Patrol said 17-year-old Leeannya Dixon, 17, Olathe; was driving south on I-35 when slowed down as she approached a traffic accident near I-435. Troopers said her car was struck by a car driven by Alexander Douglas, 18, Gardner. A car driven by Kersten Thornton, 30, Grand Rapids, Mich., then hit Douglas’s car. Troopers said Douglas may have received an injury but wasn’t taken to a hospital. A passenger in Thornton’s car, Patricia Fishel, 58, Olathe; was taken to Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Dixon was taken to KU Medical Center.
