BALDWIN CITY — After she wrecked her car a couple of months ago, Baker University student Ashley McEachern tried to figure out what to do. What she did was buy a $2 scratch ticket, called “The Saturday Evening Post” at the Santa Fe Market in Baldwin City after she found a penny heads-up in a parking lot. She bought the ticket because proceeds help Kansas military veterans, she said. She won $10,000 from the ticket. She’s using the proceeds to buy another car.
