OTTAWA — This weekend’s attempted assassination of Democratic Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and the killing of six others and the wounding of 13 other people has stirred new worries about the security of public officials. County commissioners brought up the question of security during Monday’s county meeting. Commissioner Steve Harris said he’s glad to see Sheriff Jeff Curry or one of his deputies sit in on some of the commission meetings. Commissioners said they’ll ask Curry to arrange for more frequent coverage of the meetings.
