GARNETT — A Garnett ethanol plant official is challenging a Garnett city commissioner. Dan Morgan has filed for the Garnett City Commission held by Chris Maynard. Maynard has also filed. Morgan is a distillers grains merchandiser for East Kansas Agri-Energy. He has served on the EKAE board and on the United Cooperatives board. Maynard is an agent for the Ryan Dishbrow State Farm Insurance Agency in Aarnett. He has been a member of the Garnett Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors and the Anderson County Cornstock committee. The deadline to file for the Garnett City Commission and for area school boards is noon Jan. 25.
