PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Kent Granger, Kansas City, has died at his winter home in Florida. Granger was an Ottawa native who recovered from polio and was a developer and an attorney who had a national practice who specialized in monopoly and securities cases. One of his property was the tract on U.S. 59 south of I-35 that will soon be the Love’s Travel and Truck Center. Granger was named to the Ottawa High School Wwall of Honor in 1997. His parents owned truck stop on U.S. 50 south of Ottawa. As a teenager, Granger fled in his car when what became known as the Ruskin Heights, Mo., tornado flattened his parents’ business more than 50 years ago. No word yet on funeral arrangements.
