OTTAWA — Another winter storm sweeping east from the Rocky Mountains will dump more snow across the area over the next 24 to 36 hours, the National Weather Service office in Topeka said. Snow will develop across north central Kansas Wednesday morning and will gradually overspread all of northeast Kansas by Wednesday evening, depositing 2 to 7 inches of snow in eastern Kansas. There will be another blast of cold air that moves in Thursday and Friday with wind chills on Thursday morning expected to fall to zero or below zero, the weather service said. Because the snow will likely be dry and powdery, people could see a lot of blowing snow as the storm goes through, said forecaster Matt Anderson. All told it looks like anywhere from 2 to 6 inches could fall by Thursday morning. For a map of the weather service’s current snowfall expectations click here.
