HUTCHINSON — The Kansas Mission of Mercy will offer its annual free dental clinic Friday and Saturday at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. More than 2,000 people are expected to show up for free dental care. Dentist Steve Thompson will lead a team from Ottawa who will give them some of that care. There’s a good feeling from volunteering for the program because there’s a significant need and most of the patients who receive the care are so grateful, he said. They’ll go to Hutchinson Thursday. Since the program began eight years ago, Kansas Mission of Mercy has provided $8.5 million in free dental work to 17,500 patients.
