WICHITA — God was watching the get-away but the get-away driver wasn’t. Ask two Wichita men who robbed the Catholic Family Federal Credit Union in November. U.S. attorney Barry Grissom said 21-year-old Deshane Gantt pleaded guilty to one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence and 20-year-old Christopher Crabtree pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery. Grissom said Gantt decided to rob the Catholic credit union and Crabtree agreed to drive him and help him hide the money. Maybe Gantt should have turned him down. During the get-away, they encountered a Wichita police patrol car. Crabtree was so busy watching the patrol car, he drove through a stop sign, Grissom said. The officer pulled them over and found a pillow case full of money. Sentencing is April 11.
