OTTAWA — You’ll see plenty of Helen Hood for this spring election. The wife of County Commissioner David Hood filed for both the Ottawa City Commission and the Ottawa school board. Hood was part of a parade of candidates who rushed to file before Tuesday’s noon deadline. Seven candidates filed for the city commission’s three seats. Besides Hood, other city challengers are Sara Caylor, Randy Mitchell, Jeff Richards and John Wise; who are facing two incumbents, Rocky Fleer and Blake Jorgensen. Commissioner Sara Humm didn’t file for re-election, meaning that the city will have at least one new commissioner this year.
