TOPEKA – Gov. Sam Brownback signed an executive order Wednesday that moves the Division of Travel and Tourism from the Department of Commerce to the Department of Wildlife and Parks. Brownback said moving the tourism group combines the resources and talents of two state agencies with same goal of promoting Kansas and attracting visitors to the state’s parks, historical sites and events. The order also changes the leadership of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism. Former Republican House Speaker Robin Jennison has been named by Brownback to be the wildlife and parks secretary. The order will take effect July 1 if the Kansas Legislature doesn’t reject it.
