GARNETT — Franklin County emergency management director Alan Radcliffe said you should avoid travel this morning through Wednesday. If you must travel, you should have a full tank of gas, extra clothing, blankets, fully charged cell phone, sand or cat litter, a shovel and cash, he said. If you live on a road that is prone to drifting, you may not be able to get out and if you leave your home you may not be able to return.
He said it’s best to stay inside and listen to the radio or TV for weather updates and emergency broadcasts. For more safety tips go to www.franklincoks.org.
