TOPEKA — State highway crews are out working clearing roads. Most of the roads in eastern Kansas are snow-packed, said Kansas Department of Transportation’s Priscilla Petersen said. Because of the blizzard’s heavy snow and slashing winds, the crews won’t be able to keep up very easily, she said. People should stay off the roads and highways if at all possible, she said. If you have get out on the highways during the blizzard, you should do some research, by checking KDOT’s highway information services by calling 511 or checking the Web site www.kandrive.org.
