GARNETT — Bike Across Kansas has agreed to make Garnett the last overnight stop on the this year’s Bike Across Kansas event in honor of the city’s 150th anniversary.  About 800 riders plus their support crews will pedal nearly 475 miles from the Colorado border to Missouri during the eight-day Bike Across Kansas.  They will arrive in Garnett on June 10th.  The city invited the group at the urging of local Bike Across Kansas rider Bill Ratliff, Garnett Tourism’s Susan Wettstein said.  Garnett Tourism and the Friends of the Prairie Spirit Trail will work together to coordinate the bikers’ stay, she said. T he bikers will stay at the Anderson County Junior-Senior High School.  Bike Across Kansas stopped in Garnett in 2003.
