OTTAWA — County commissioners rejected a request Wednesday by people living along the 3700 to 3900 block of Indiana Road south of Centropolis to pave that part of their road. County public works director jim haag recommended that the request be rejected because there isn’t enough traffic on the road and because the county doesn’t have enough money: However, Gary Williams, who lives along that part of the road and who signed the petition to pave the road, said the road has been subject to increasing traffic, including heavy trucks. Commissioners said the group could pay to pave the road themselves. They also said they could request that dust control chemicals be applied to the road.
