Kansas City, KS–Instead of looking at the Kansas Register Sex Offender website, you can look at license plates to see if a sex offender lives near you. Senate Bill 39 would require sex offenders to have their license plates marked with the word “Offender” in different colors to indicate if the victim was a child or adult. The same bill would bar sex offenders, whose victims were under the age of 16, to live 2,000 feet of a school or day care. Kansas law makers will consider the bill later this month.
