WELLSVILLE — A 66-year-old Lawrence woman was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center Saturday afternoon as a result of a head-on accident at New Hope Church east of Ottawa. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office said Shirley Knapp was trying to turn left from K-68 onto K-33 when her car was hit head-on by a car driven by Brandon Rankin, 20, Colorado Springs. He wasn’t injured.
