OTTAWA — Because of more deep cuts in state funding for schools, the Ottawa school board has decided to close Eisenhower Elementary School next year. The board will schedule a public hearing about the closing on March 9. Because of the number of people likely to attend the meeting, the public hearing will likely be at Ottawa Middle School, said Ottawa school Supt. Dean Katt. There will be an earlier meeting March 1 for Eisenhower parents and the public, he said. Katt said the district will move the district offices and other functions into the building, once the school is closed.
