OTTAWA — Ottawa University senior linebacker Fielding Brenner has received OU’s Dick Peters Award. The award is given to a senior who demonstrateS and exemplifies the “Dick Peters Spirit” both on and off the field. Brenner, Holton, is a three-time all-KCAC selection for the Braves. He holds OU’s career record for tackles – 347 tackles over four years. Dick Peters was head football coach for 19 years and his teams had a record of 129-42-3 and seven conference titles. He left in 1971 to become an assistant coach for Vince Gibson at his alma mater Kansas State. He died two years later of a heart attack at 53.
