GARNETT – Anderson County will replace the Rainbow Bridge on 1750 Road east of Garnett. The Anderson County Review reported that replacing the one-lane arched bridge will cost $80,000 to $150,000. The county will pay 20 percent of the cost. The work is expected to begin after May. It’s not yet known how long the project will take or what the detour will be. County engineer Paul Moss said replacing the bridge has been on the county’s to-do list for at least 15 years, but other bridge replacement projects have taken priority.
