LAWRENCE — Wellsville’s Chely Wright is being inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame. The country singing star will be inducted during a ceremony and concert at Liberty Hall in Lawrence Saturday night at 6:30. Hall president Bill Lee said Wright won’t be able to attend but her father will accept the award on her behalf. Last year, Wright announced she was a lesbian and wrote a song and a book, both called “Like Me” about her coming out. Others being inducted include jazz men Count Basie, Charlie Parker, James Gadson, and Bobby Watson. Also being inducted — The Rainmakers, Rudy Love, Riverrock, Pat McJimsey, Jimmy Wilson, Jesse Stone and record producer Garth Fundis, producer for country superstar Garth Brooks.
