OTTAWA — Franklin County was going to mark this week’s Severe Weather Awareness Week by taking part in the statewide tornado siren drill Tuesday afternoon. But the statewide drill was postponed to Thursday afternoon because of an awareness of severe weather Tuesday, the Adjutant General’s office said. But nevertheless, the week is a reminder to residents to be aware of weather conditions as the prime severe storm season begins, said Franklin County emergency management director Alan Radcliffe. Severe storm spotter classes will be next week in Ottawa and Garnett.
