PAOLA — A teacher at Shawnee Mission West who is being investigated for an improper relationship with a student was involved in a one-car crash Tuesday in Miami County. The Miami County Sheriff’s Office said the teacher had to be airlifted to University of Kansas Medical Center after her car went off a ledge at 247th and Flint streets. Her condition wasn’t known. A school official said the allegations facing the teacher have been a distraction.
