BALDWIN CITY–Baldwin High School is hoping to add another athletic team during the 2012 spring season. A proposal for a girls soccer team was made to the USD 348 Board of Education members Monday. For the last six seasons, Baldwin High’s soccer team has been co-ed. Mary Lisa Joslyn, the wife of the Bulldog’s soccer coach Mark Joslyn, said that there is a demand from girls in Baldwin High and Baldwin Junior High for a soccer team. Joslyn also said that the cost of the program, including coach, transportation, and officials could cost over $5,000 but the school board doesn’t have to pay for the entire total. In related news, Eudora and Louisburg have also toyed with the idea of having a girls soccer program in their respected schools.
