OTTAWA — City commissioners think they want to replace the mayor’s Christmas tree in Haley Park. They discussed the tree, which is the highlight of the annual Christmas lighting ceremony, during Monday’s study session. But they said that the staff will have to branch out with their research before they do so. City manager Richard Nienstedt said the condition of the present tree is such that it needs to be replaced and he said he’ll keep working on replacing it.
