FREDONIA — A former cable television employee charged with a sex crime involving an Ottawa teenager didn’t show up for sentencing this morning. Wilson County Attorney Jill Chard said that Charles Christopher “Chris” Taylor failed to appear in Wilson County District Court as scheduled. A warrant for his arrest has been issued, she said. Last month, Taylor agreed to a plea deal for indecent liberties with a minor earlier in connection with a case in which an Ottawa teenager was taken from Ottawa High School to near Fredonia for sex. Using a fake name, Taylor used Facebook to troll for young women. Taylor, who left the girl in Wilson County, was the subject of a three-day manhunt in northern Anderson County after his employer, Allegiance Cable, used a satellite signal to disable his truck at the request of Ottawa police. Chard said the sentencing will be rescheduled after officers catch up with Taylor.
