OSAWATOMIE — Once again, the Osawatomie City Council is considering a plan to make recycling mandatory for city residents. The council discussed the plan with Larry and Bryce Smith of L&K services recently. The Osawatomie Journal reported that the company won’t pick up yard waste after this year, but would be willing to consider it as a recycling option. The council is considering a plan similar to Paola’s recycling program, which started last fall. That would involve trash pick-up once a week and a second pick-up for recycled material.
