TOPEKA–Certain bath-salts will be outlawed according to a new bill passed by the Kansas Senate. Yesterday the Senate passed a bill that bath salts, containing cathinones would be illegal to sell. The salts, if ingested, can produce a methamphetamine-like high, linking to recent cases of addiction and suicide. The powders, equal in size of a crushed aspirin, sell from $19-$50 at stores, gas stations, smoke shops and over the Internet. By comparison, a 20-oz jar of real bath salts are available in many stores for about $4-$5.
