TTAWA — Franklin County could seek a grant to look at starting a community health center, also called a safety-net clinic for those people who are poor or have no health insurance. County health director midge ransom told county commissioners Monday that the county could receive an $80,000 grant to see if it’s feasible to start a clinic. The county wouldn’t have to contribute any money to match the grant, she said. A study would determine the need and cost and do the basic planning for a clinic, she said. If the study indicated otherwise, the proposal could be dropped, she said. Commissioners will vote on whether to apply for the grant Wednesday morning.
