OTTAWA — Ottawa police removed a child from a home in the 800 block of East Hamblin Street Monday afternoon because of living conditions in the home. Police Lt. Adam Weingartner said there are many factors regarding living conditions — including the availabity of electricity, water, food, safe conditions and bug infestations — that are considered. The decision to remove children isn’t taken lightly and conditions must be severe before they removed, he said.
