TOPEKA– Representatives from local and national human rights organizations want Kansas State Representative Virgil Peck of Tyro out. More than 50,000 people signed an online petition to have the representative out of office for his comments about illegal immigration. Last week, Peck said that shooting illgal immigrants could be a solution to the immigration problem. Peck has later apologized for the comments. House Republican leaders said that they have accepted Peck’s apology. The petition will be sent to Governor Sam Brownback today.
