OSAWATOMIE — The gladiators marched in Osawatomie Middle School gym classes. The Osawatomie Journal reports OMS teachers Dave French and Nancy Gagnebin divided their sixth-graders into teams bearing colored flags and cardboard shields.
Besides smiting each other with dodge balls, the sixth-graders cudgeled their brains with a hand math game. The teachers said because the students spend so much time with video games, they loved the gladiatorial matches because they were so different.
