LAWRENCE–Yesterday morning the former leader of fund raising for KU Athletics was sentenced to federal prison. Rodney Jones was sentenced to 46 months for taking part in a $2 million ticket scheme that illegally delivered thousands of tickets for KU basketball and football games to brokers. Jones was the Assistant Athletics Director for the Williams Fun. On top of the prison sentence, Jones must also play all or part of nearly $1.2 million in restitution to Kansas Athletics and be responsible to play $114,000 to the IRS.
