OTTAWA — A front-yard chef did more grilling than expected Sunday. Ottawa Fire Chief Jeff Carner said the residents of an apartment in the 300 block of East Ninth Street were grilling on their front porch when a sofa on the porch accidentally caught fire. They took the sofa off the porch and the fire was put out when firefighters arrived, Carner said. `The damage was minimal, he said.
