OTTAWA – Although there were few contested municipal elections, the drama still remains. On the Wellsville City Council, Mike McAfee and Jim Stonequist are the top two winners. However, Stonequist won by one vote and the official canvass by county commissioners could change the results Friday morning On the Pomona City Council, Jerald Johnson and Jay Meador were the top two vote-getters. Other cities’ races either didn’t have enough people file or just enough for the positions available. One of those was for the Williamsburg City Council. However, a large write-in effort in that could pose problems for former mayor David Staley, who was the second for two open positions.
