OTTAWA — Students at Lincoln School spent last month getting enough stuffed toys to stuff Franklin County ambulances. Ambulance director Nick Robbins says working through “Communities in Schools,” the kids donated 150 pounds of stuffed toys and teddy bears to be given to children who are picked up by ambulances. Studies show that kids who are picked up by ambulances receive more comfort and relief from their pain and distress when they’re given stuffed toys, he said. The toys were picked up – by ambulance – Tuesday afternoon at Lincoln.
