OSAWATOMIE — Mike Goves won easily but John Klein barely squeaked by in the contested races for Osawatomie City Council. Goves won Ward 3 by 136 votes to 21 over Richard Alonzo. In Ward 4, Klein had 29 votes to 25 votes for Larry Ratley.
Ted Hunter and Mike Moon were unopposed. Mayor Phil Dudley was the only person to file for mayor. He received 206 votes. However, there 186 write-in votes for mayor. In the only contested race for the Paola City Council, Leigh House won the Ward 3 race over Ryan Gerken 80 votes to 34. Mayor Artie Stuteville and Jim Pritchard in the city council Ward 1 were unopposed. In Louisburg, voters picked Ira Donovan over Glena Hauer Windisch for Position 4, 127-67. Steve Town won a three-way race for the at-large position on the Louisburg City Council. Town, 386; Shawn Unthank, 288; and Terry Yeager, 22.
