PAOLA — Shelly Schierman and Tom Vohs were the winners in the contested Paola school board races. Vohs received 314 votes for Position 3 compared to Jim Fisher’s 281. Shierman received 331 votes for Position 5. Joshua Furnish received 276 votes. Stacia Bledsoe and Kevin Schasteen were unopposed for the Paola school board. All of the Louisburg school board positions were contested. In the unofficial tally, Janet Houchin barely got more votes than Jimmy Allen Jr. for Position 1. Lanny Smith won a three-way race over Helen Kloepper and Lou Cavis for Position 2. Bret Koesser won a three-way race over David Boles and George Hurst. In the at-large position, Rusty Meigs barely won a three-way race over Jerry Flanagan and Shawn Lowry. None of the Osawatomie school board positions had races. Tammy Booe, D.J. Needham, Stanton Adams and Richard Fisher Jr. were unopposed.
