GARNETT — High winds from Sunday night’s storm damaged a number of farm structures near Cedar Valley Reservoir west of Garnett. The Anderson County Review reported that a conveyor at Valley R Agri-Service was ripped down by the winds. As the conveyor fell, it damaged some grain bins. Several trees and telephone poles were damaged or knocked down, and barn roofs and out buildings were also damaged west of Garnett. Anderson County emergency management director Marvin Grimes estimated the wind speeds at 70 to 80 miles an hour.
