OTTAWA — Four men have been named to a new Ottawa Airport advisory board by the city commission. Ken Davidson and Cal Lantis received two-year terms. Chad Caylor and Jack Miller received three-year terms. The Ottawa mayor will also serve on the board. The city will add two more people to the board later. The board will make recommendations about the airport’s future and help promote the airport. In addition, commissioners have agreed to sell $840,000 in temporary bonds to Great Southern Bank, which offered the lowest interest cost for the bonds. City finance director Scott Bird said he was pleased by the low bids. It’s cheaper to sell the bonds as temporary notes and then roll the bonds into a larger general-obligation bond issue later, he said. Commissioner Blake Jorgensen works for the bank and didn’t take part in the vote or discussion about the bonds.
