OTTAWA – Ottawa is still lighting up the Take Charge Challenge. City administrative assistant Leslie Quillen said the city continues to lead the state in switching out light bulbs to the CFL bulbs. Ottawans have switched to nearly 11,000 of the more energy-efficient CFLs. Ottawa is competing against Baldwin City, Paola and Gardner to save the most energy this summer. The winning city will receive a $100,000 grant. The competition looks at a variety of energy efficiency categories.
