WASHINGTON – U.S. agriculture secretary Tom Vilsack said his department is trying to add 10,000 more blender ethanol pumps that sell all types of ethanol gas blends. The USDA is making improvements to a program that makes it easier for gas stations and convenience stores to buy and install the new pumps and provides grants to pay part of the cost. The USDA is also creating five new ethanol research centers and helping in the construction of new ethanol production plants, he said.
