OTTAWA — There will be two Red Cross blood drives this week in Ottawa. This afternoon’s blood drive goes until 6 at the National Guard armory and will have a higher goal of 100 usable units of blood. The drive is being sponsored by the Ottawa Youth Action Council and they’ve been organizing and recruiting donors, said Bev Kerbs, Red Cross coordinator. Special certificates will be given to everyone who recruits donors and the Ottawa Volunteer Center will also offer a special prize to students who bring the most donors, she said. Walk-ins are welcome. If you miss that one, a second drive will be 10-3 Thursday at the new Neosho County Community College on K-68.
