GARNETT — The Garnett Ethanol Hydroplane Nationals will be June 24-26 at Cedar Valley Reservoir southwest of Garnett. Race organizer Vernon Barfield, 2009 national hydroplane champion, said more than 25 national championship teams are guaranteed to be at the race, including teams from New York. The Renewable Fuels Association’s Robert White said the boats will burn E10 ethanol for the race. This race will be on the southern end of the reservoir, allowing the northern section to be used for fishing or for race spectators to anchor boats.
