OTTAWA — The Ottawa school district will hold a public hearing and republish its budget. Although the district has seen its share of state aid cuts because of the economy, it will receive some more special state aid because Ottawa students are poorer because of the economy, said Supt. Dean Katt. By republishing the budget for the at-risk and general funds, the district will be able to use the $107,000 more for the at-risk fund and $35,000 for the general fund this year to offset state budget cuts, he said. Katt said he knew the district would get the money and built the budget expecting the money. Now that the money is available, the district must republish the budget, he said.
