OTTAWA — Wednesday was the day for the annual Franklin County EARTH Festival attended by county middle school students at the county fairgrounds. Frontier Extension District 4-H agent Jo-Ellen Arnold said it’s a fun learning experience with a point. Students learn around the critters who share the earth with them, water quality, soil and even a close encounter with snakes and other reptiles, she said.
